Dear Ms. Abbott:
I would like to thank you for taking the time to speak with me during our interview yesterday. It was a pleasure meeting you and your staff, and I was impressed not only by the facilities, but also your hospital's dedication to patient care. In today's competitive healthcare industry, I share your philosophy in delivering top-notch care to the patient while controlling excess costs, and I believe that I can utilize my 10 years of experience as a department manager to further advance the mission of your organization.
I want to take this opportunity to clarify my answer to your question about my level of budget experience in my current position. Please note that the 3M budget figure I discussed did include salary expenses as well as annual operating expenses.
As a veteran manager, I have seen our facility struggle through periods of financial difficulty only to achieve "Magnet" status last year. Although this process was challenging for many reasons, the sense of accomplishment that comes with having made such tremendous strides goes without saying, especially for those of us who served on the Quality Improvement Task Force over the years. The "Magnet" designation is not only beneficial to our hospital but also to the community it has served for over 75 years. If I am given an opportunity to join your staff of committed providers, I would hope to be able to share information regarding some of the programs that our task force implemented which led to our recent successes.
Again, I appreciate the time you spent with me discussing the Director of Women's and Children's position, and I believe that my professional experience, leadership skills, and strong work ethic would be an asset to your organization. If I can provide the search committee with any additional information regarding my qualifications, please don't hesitate to contact me at (510) 329-4545.
